Well, we really need to get some sort of wiki discussion system in place. We either re-enable the built-in wiki discussions, or I'm thinking about creating a MediaWiki (MW) hook, that will create a thread in the forums. Then a discussion button will send the user to the forums, specifically to forum thread for that wiki article. Most likely, we'll create a thread under this forum called "Wiki Discussions". I can have the MW hook when articles are created in the wiki, and then the script create the forum topic automatically and link it to the wiki article.

I like the hook idea, as I abhor the talk pages on wiki's.

That particular forum should be locked from normal users creating new threads, allowing on the wiki hook to create them, so as to keep the discussion locked on target as it were, or something similar to that effect.

yeah nice idea, if the hook can do that.
therefor we need some dummy forum user which creates the topic.

as it creates the topic, provide the page name and perhaps the first paragrph of the wiki page as a quote.
