UnitedAdmins (UA) has been around since 2002, but has been mostly dormant for the past 4-5 years. We've already started rebuilding the activity and updating resources, which will help UA regain it's title as THE community for game server admins around the world.

There's a lot you can do without even being an official staff member (but show us that you're interested in helping out). For example, you can respond kindly to support requests in the forums and/or IRC channel, or you can contribute information to the wiki. We'd prefer seeing some dedicated activity before adding you to our official staff.

In the past, we had applications and added people immediately, which we may do for certain projects. We ran into issues where people would join staff and not do anything. We're all volunteers and support each other in helping to make this the best game server admin community we can.

If you have been actively helping already and are really interested in becoming an official UA staff member, please reply to this forum with a little information about yourself and where you'd like to help out. Thank you!

Hi guys, not sure how many of you remember me but I spent a lot of time here a few years ago. I have run Linux CS servers since 1.3 and have worked with just about every configuration imaginable. I also volunteered as a Global Mod on the Counter-Server forums until they went poof some time ago.

I am getting back into hosting servers and miss being a part of the community. I will jump in and do what I can to help aspiring admins and hosts with their servers.

Quick question - what happened to all of the old threads? Google still lists some of my old responses from here and the cs forums but they are nowhere to be found.

The old threads are on the previous incarnation of the UA forums. I am not sure if they will be returning in an archived sense or not.

Also, you mentioned you plan on hosting servers again in the near future. Are you colocating, renting boxes, host them yourself or what? Purely just curious.

As far as the volunteering, I am sure Hounddawg will get in touch with you in the next day or so. Until then, feel free to contribute to the wiki =).

I run windows based dedicated blade server (personaly owned box) in oregon and run multiple servers from it such as
bf42 dc & dc final mods,dh005,ns,r6v,ventrilo,ts2,and Mostly run trackmania servers (5) and mods with extensivly modified XASECO's and have a pretty good hold on setting up and running local database's to customized these servers with many in game options to manage players.
Keep in mind i run windows based so i am a total noob with linux.

If anyone needs the help, I would be glad to share what i have learned that works.

Wow, nice to see new interest! It seems that one way you can help immediately is by posting your server builds and some usage stats over in the Server Showcase forum. Like ColdSun mentioned, feel free to post articles into the wiki (or in the Wiki Sandbox forum).

Ive been back since there were talks about rebuilding the community. Just let me know what you need me to do. Currently I am still running my IRC Network, just a small group of friends that I have played games with since 97, ie. Battle.net(Starcraft,WarCraft, Diablo, and I am looking forward to Starcraft 2 coming out.
